If youve come to this page then I guess you are interested in finding out exactly what the Weedkillers are all about - what do ya mean ya pressed the wrong link?? We're not all a bunch of stoned out hippies - though the majority of us would agree with the above - we are a group of like minded individuals who play to enjoy themselves and of course win (whats more fun than winning??) . WK members need to have an easy going attitude, a good sense of humour and at the same time be committed - you dont need to smoke but it helps ;-)
The Weedkillers were formed in 1996 as a DM clan participating in the UKCL league and while boasting many skilled players including Hash, Bong, Shill, Death, Cabbage and Loon there attitude was very much "its just a game" and not to be taken to seriously - serious is anything but what WK was and is all about. In 1997 Team Fortress was gaining popularity and the first clan, the Spice Girls, had already been formed and so Loon started the first WKTF squad and instigated a mass influx of players. Unfortunately the squad collapsed mid `97 after the departure of Loon to the Rebel Smurfs and various other members to the newly formed Clan Nova (Lead by Sid Vicious), it seemed as if WK had finally come to rest. Towards the end of `97 beginning of `98 Loon left the Rebel Smurfs and began the task of rebuilding the Weedkillers TF squad. After a few months WK began experiencing manpower problems and a solution was needed - at the same time Nova was experiencing similar problems - the two clans were very similar in there attitudes and ideals and in April `98 they merged to form the all new WKTF Clan jointly lead by Loon and Sid Vicious. At the end of `98 Loon left the Weedkillers to emigrate to the USA, shortly afterwards Sid entered an extended leave after blowing his PC up at the WK Clan meet - the future again looked unclear but thanks to the excellent admin team and dedicated players WK lived on and merged with another UKTF Clan, The Avenging Angels.
After the collapse of QWTF, fuelled by source code releases, cheating, bunny hopping and Counter Strike, WK slept for a short while until re-awakening in 1999 to play some Clan CS. This went on for a year or so, even having our own Clan Server, until we dabbled for a while in Tribes and then finally going to sleep once more in 2002.
Now, after two years, we are back, as a Counter Strike: Source clan! So, load up your AK47, touch da screen, and prepare to die ...
